Hi all!
Today i'm going to talk about the curriculum of anthropology at the university of Chile. After some years, I realized the curriculum of anthropology in this university it's very badly built. I will tell you some reasons why I say this. First, anthropology it's a career that in the future implies share with the people, and apply the tools that the discipline gives you, but throght the five years of this career you have very few fields. We don't have much oportunities to put into practice what whe have learned.
On the other hand, our curriculum it's not very well thought out and does'nt have a continuity. The theoretical currents are passed in a disorderly manner, so we are not clear about which perspectives are before and which are later.
Also, there is no comunication between teachers, so they put all the evaluations together.
This means that we have a lot of academic load, and we end up very stressed. In addition the teachers should be more pedagogical, because sometimes just repeat as a robot, and we don't really learn.
The infrastructure is not ready to receive so many students. I remember that once we had to sit on the floor because there were no more chairs. Sometimes the computers are not enough.
In spite of all this, I think that I have learned a lot, but it could be more if these things were changed.
So, what do you think about anthropology curriculum?

My next summer holidays
Hi all!
Today I'm going to talk about what places I want to visit in my next summer vacations.
I'm not sure what places I would like to visit, but I'm sure that I like to travel far away of Santiago city. I saved money for this occasion, so depending of this amount I would like to plan my holidays. For now, I would like to know the north of Chile, because the south I already know it. The last summer I backpacked with my ex boyfriend and some friends at south of Chile, and we met "Entre Lagos", "Valdivia", "Puerto Fuy", "Ensenada" and other places... But, now I would like to know the north because I never have travel there.
On the other hand, there is he option of traveling with my cousin and her friends to Brazil, but I'm not sure, because I feel that the situation in Brazil has been different since President Bolsonaro was elected. Anyway, I love Brazil, its beaches, its climate, its people. I love the energy they transmit, their language and their traditional dance: the samba. However, we have not yet planned which places to visit and where to stay, it's just an idea.
Also, I would like to travel with my family, go to the places we always visit: camping at the rappel lake, visit Lipimavida, or also Pichilemu. I like to travel with my family, I feel that in this way we maintain the emotional bonds, which are so precious

Zombies!!
Today I'm going to tell you about something I knew a little while ago. About ZOMBIFICATION!!!
He told us that both Christianity and Voodoo are religions that still live in Haiti; but voodoo remains a taboo in society for all the years of trying to eradicate it. This religion is associated with the zombification process: a REAL PROCESS according to this teacher!
A few days ago a teacher who had been three years in Haiti, went to talk us about this country.

A few days ago a teacher who had been three years in Haiti, went to talk us about this country.
According to the internet, a zombie consists of a dead man resurrected by magical means by a sorcerer to turn him into his slave. However, the teacher told us that the most common thing in the tradition was to zombify someone for two reasons: for adultery (in women) or for treason. Through the mixture of different ingredients (among which is the poison of a puffer fish, bones and human remains) a powder is made that is inhaled and turns you into a zombie. This posion damages your central nervous system for life, and makes you look dead; without facial expressions, without any will, and with an emaciated appearance. Undead.
According to the professor, the French conquerors when they learned about the properties of this posion, began to occupy it to have more slaves. Now, zombification would be banned in Haiti. He thinks he saw at least two zombies when he visited Haiti.
Do you think this is real?

Future?
Hi all!
Today, I will talk about what kind of job I would like to have in the future. This post is related with the past post, because many things that I think in the past for my future, still present now, including the uncertainty....hehe
The labor field of the anthropology is very difficult, so I'm not very secure about my future or what kind of job I would like to have, but I think I would like to do many different thing at the same time. I would'nt like only to work on what I studied, because I have always rejected the routine. I would like mix differents jobs and hobbies, or changing projects often. One of the things that i'm sure is my taste for travel for all the world applying what I learned in anthropology, and while maybe work in other thing. I would like to make a film or documentary on an interesting topic of anthropology. On the other hand I would like to work on some public proyect or something similar where I can contribute something with my knowledge...Sometimes I think that I would like teach, or maybe study other career like dance. I would love mix the dance with anthropology and make a experiment with both disciplines. As you can see I like many things and I'm very indecisive:( But, I think is better think about the future when i'm there...

Social Anthropology
Hi all, this time I will talk about my career and the reasons why I chose it.
Well, when I was a kid I wanted study many things and also I wanted to travel all over the world. At the school, I wanted study theatre or some career associated like dance or physical education, because I really liked sport and performance. But with the time, when I was an adolescent I started prefer careers related with indian history and past like archaeology or pedagogy in history. Finally when I had to choose the career for my future I decided to study anthropology, because I liked archaeology...a beautiful career that mixing many things that I liked: history; dinosaur; travel and new cultures (different ways of seeing the world).I imagined me travelling for all the world, meeting different monuments of different cultures. But with the time in the career, I realized that I liked much more what happened with the people in the present in relation to the past. On the other hand, I think that I can help to solve human problems much more in social anthropology and also this career combined my desire to travel and my taste for differents societies.
Actually, I so happy learning about anthropology theory, etnography, differents cultures and others types of life in the modern context.
In the future, I would like work in differents places of my country, and later in other countries of América. I would like to be a contribution to these societies and not only an academic more.

"Nocturnal animals"
Hi, today I'm going to write about my favorite movie until now.
Some time ago, my brother and I saw "nocturnal animals"; I really
liked that movie. This film, is about a man who after being abandoned
by his girlfriend, writes a novel to get revenge and transmit everything
he felt during their relationship and after his breakup. The novel is very
crude and occupies a metaphor that makes us all shake. I knew that after
seeing it, it leaves you a bit anguished and with a lot of sorrow. When I
reflected on the movie, it seemed to leave a very interesting message.
The film, in a very cruel way, make us question the gender roles that we
have built in our minds, and to measure to what extent these can affect
the other person. It mainly touches on the issue of masculinity, of what
happens when a man is more sensitive than what is expected or when he
does not fulfill the protective role. It relates the conflicts that a man lives
internally when he is rejected for breaking with these schemes that make
us so unhappy. Please, if you have the opportunity, see it.

My best holidays
Hi all!
In 2017 I had the chance to travel outside the country and know many beautiful places. I had never traveled outside the Chile, so this was a very special occasion for me. I traveled with my boyfriend and his family with which I had a lot of fun. We went to Cuba... a beautiful place that mixing many things that I liked: tropical climate; idyllic beaches with a turquoise color; nature; cuban salsa in the pubs and very nice people... We stay here for about two weeks: one week in the Havana, and other week in Varadero. We met many places like the Old Havana, Morro Castle, The Capitolio, The Malecon, old buildings and the beaches.
Cuba is a wonderful and very quiet place to visit. It's people have a lot of energy and joy. You can tell how different people are in different countries. His life is characterized by being more cheerful, and by relating in community...
This was my appreciation when I visited this exquisite and magical country.
